Guys,
first of all, I'd like to thank you for all your replies/help. As I've mentioned before,
I'm totally new to this JRSC business. Some of you emailed me with a suggestion of upgrading the fuel pump...I noticed that the kit if bought already come with a new fuel pump...do I need to get a NEW, better one and not used the one that is provided???

Also some of you recommended the BTM-MDS (maybe I miss spelled it but I'm sureyou know), JR safeguard etc...

what exactly is JR safeguard? a unit to prevent detonation? And what is BTM-MDS or whatever that is??/ what does it do?

Again, I'm only want to use the JRSC at the stock 6psi for now...do I really need all this for the 6 psi? Thank again for all the help guys...

I'm thinking of getting my 1996 Integra GSR to the darkside...I'm looking at the Jackson Racing supercharger. Before I out all out at it, those with chargers installed, please give me some advices/tips...

For beginner, I think I'll only do it with
the recommended 6psi for NOW. The car is currently 100% stock. With these assumptions, please give me some input on your experience, do and don't etc..


1. What other upgrades/replacement/add-on parts (assuming the car is from stock) do I need beside the kit from JR?

2. What are the pros/cons of adding the charger (like the issue of belt slipping etc.)

3. What products, mods. should I do or should avoid.

4. Anything that you think I should know...
I am totally inexperience with force induction so please give me details..thank you.

First, welcome to the board.

ALL that you NEED to install a JRSC on a GSR and get all of the power benefits of the 6 psi kit is the kit itself and an upgraded fuel pump. You mentioned that the kit comes with a fuel pump... this is NOT true. Now, some mail order companies will add it to the package, however, JR does not ship it this way. Also, specify the GSS-342 pump when ordering... it is the High Output version of the 255lph pump. It won't have to work as hard to provide the proper fuel pressure as the 317 (thus, a lower failure rate) and if you ever decide to upgrade to more boost, you will not have to buy another pump... you will already have what you need.

The J&S Safeguard is a "safety device" that is a good idea if you want to be protective of your motor. It gaurds against the damaging effects of detonation and pre-ignition.

The MSD-BTM is a device that allows you to run a bit more advanced timing setting at idle (which improves throttle response and low/mid end accelleration) yet pulls out enough timing to maximize top end HP and minimize tip-in and part-throttle detonation. Don't buy one of these yet !!! JR is about to release their own version of this box with some timing maps already installed. I have one on the way to me NOW to test. They will be available to the general public in just a few weeks.

Yes, I know someone who has one of these right now, but I haven't heard the results yet.

Didn't know if it was hush hush, so I didn't say anything about it a week ago.

However, I'm curious, as to whether it's superior to water injection, since you do no timing adjustment with h20 at all, as I understand, plus no electronic device that I know of can drop intake temps (what up to 60 degrees I think -- maybe that's more than I'm thinking it was, but I know it's still significant)

Your stock clutch is fine for now buddy. I logged over 55k miles on my stock clutch. This was also achieved along with visiting the dragstrip on a monthly basis. Now I run an ACT setup, grabs like Darth Vader's choke.

Thanks for all the inputs guys. I'm in the process of getting hookup with a friend at the shop to get a kit for me. He can get it at wholesale price so should be a plus. I am planning to use the difference (saving $$ from wholesale) money to finance for the installation from Acura dealer. There is two local dealers here in Houston that is a authorized dealer for JR...so they should know what they're doing. I looked at one of the website as recommended, the instruction is very detail but sounds like it's a b*tch to install..especially for me since I'm mechanically challenged

Well so for now it'll be just the kit, Walbro 255 fuel pump ...and MAY BE upgrade to ACT Highpressure plate/Street Organic disc

*****JRCVIC, Jim, I remember reading from one of the website that do not use higher pressure fuel pump than the Walbro 255 because it is too strong and will burn too rich or something...Can you clarify on this? Thanks.
